Meet The Doctors

  • Dr.
    Paul Leary

    Dr. Leary graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1986. He served as a Dental Officer in the US Navy for 3 active years and as a reservist for 13 years prior to returning to his hometown . He has remained at this location since 1989 and recently completed a renovation to update the office to reflect the new millennium. He knew he wanted to become a Dentist since he was five years of age and feels lucky to have fulfilled that dream.

    Dr. Leary is currently the Trustee representing New York State at the American Dental Association.  He is past-Chairman at the American Dental Association in Chicago on the New Commission on Dental Education Review Programs.

    He continues to update his profession through Continuing Education courses locally and nationally. He enjoys running, biking, golf, and any pursuit of fitness.

    Dr. Leary's daughter, Dr. Megan, has recently joined the practice in Smithtown and enhances the availability and schedule offered to patients. He feels it is an honor to have her follow in the profession he loves.

    Matthew Hanna

    Dr. Hanna attended SUNY Geneseo, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 2006. After completing his D.M.D at the University of Pittsburgh in 2010, Dr. Hanna completed a two year residency at Stony Brook University Hospital and there was distinguished as Chief Resident. Dr. Hanna is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine.

    He is currently a board member of Suffolk County Dental Society, New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

    He grew up in Hauppauge and is happy to be able to return back to work in such a great area. He stays active with a variety of activities including running, skiing, and swimming.

    Megan Leary

    Dr. Megan attended Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia for her undergraduate training, completing a degree in Interdisciplinary Health Services with a concentration in Health Care Ethics. Remaining in Philadelphia, she earned her D.M.D at Temple University in 2014. Following dental school, she completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the V.A. Medical Center in Los Angeles. During which, she was distinguished as chief resident and broadened her horizons both medically and dentally.

    Dr. Megan is thrilled to be following her dreams back in Smithtown and working alongside her father and Dr. Hanna. She is eager to bring her unique experiences with her to better the practice and the community of Smithtown. She remains active with the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, and Suffolk County Dental Society.
